After a few days of mulling over the progression of things, and starting to work out some character arcs and plot lines, I finally cranked out an outline today. (A much delayed flight to Atlanta provided plenty of time to get down to business.) Feeling pretty good about it - follows a good three-act structure, story lines are well-developed, balanced, and interwoven, and there's a good climax that leads to an unexpected ending. I also feel good about utilizing the source material as inspiration and a source of plot ideas while making this story my own and told in a different manner. Of course, we'll see how I feel when I reread the outline tomorrow... Some potential issues: the timeline, the character arcs, and avoiding predictable stories. Hopefully I can revise it enough in the next couple of days to get a solid foundation for writing the script itself.

Good! Is it a stage play, a movie, short film...graphic novel? Do the character arcs extend beyond this script?
